Travel Ploumanac’h to Granada

What a day this has been, two days actually.
Yesterday Marie-Claude deposited me at Lannion railway station. Train to Rennes and then, after a long wait, at 4:30 pm the bus arrived and it was the same bus all the way to Granada. That was convenient - changing bus is always a hassle. Several short stops to pick up or set down passengers at Nantes, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Bayonne, and Irun, but the first real stop for drink, food and facilities was only at 2 am! I managed to hang on to the seat next to mine, so had a total of 5 hours sleep. Many people got off in Madrid so that the bus was almost empty after that. The bus arrived in Granada just after 3 pm.

At one point there was a message from Andrea “Boarding”. I felt it was quite funny to think that she was flying up there while I was doing the same trajectory down below.

Andrea is treating us to two nights in the parador in the Alhambra! So after a little nap we went out for a walk and a bite to eat and a drink in the town centre. This brought back a lot of memories of how we, Andrea, Alison and I, walked into Granada two years ago after having done part of the Camino Mozárabe coming from Almeria. It feels very strange that everything seems so normal, so many people milling about, not all wearing masks outside.

Luxuriating in bed now.....
