Final part of the Camino Mozárabe from Córdoba to Mérida this year with Andrea
Am sitting in Roissy airport in Paris on my way to Sevilla where I will meet my daughter Andrea who is coming from London. From Sevilla we will take a train to Córdoba late this afternoon and off tomorrow morning on our first day’s walking. A total of ten days should take us to Mérida where the Camino Mozárabe meets the Via de la Plata. I walked the Via de la Plata (which goes from Sevilla to Santiago) several years ago - so will stop in Mérida.
The stages on this walk were not easy to organize - some of them are fairly long and towards the end of one of them we will certainly use a taxi - 37 km I cannot manage. The rest should be possible with prebooked accommodation, which allows you to have many pauses and arriving quite late in the day.
My pack seems reasonable, 7 kg without food and water. And the weather is expected to be reasonable too - temperatures in the 20ies as opposed to 38 degrees C two years ago when I walked from Granada to Córdoba with Andrea and Duncan.
My plane is called, so I am off. Back tomorrow night….
